This year we attended the Dementia, Nursing, & Home Care Expo Event on both the 15th and 16th September. We had a stand where we were giving away a free video (and some Lindor chocolates which drew in loads of people, potentially more than the free video!)
Our time at the Expo
During our time at the event, York got to meet a lot of people that he knew online and being able to meet up and have a chat really reminded him of the value of face-to-face communication. York also attended some talks by some really great people, including, ‘5 Things to Consider When Marketing Your Care Business’ by Tobi Alli-Usman and Jayne Connery talk on ‘Social Care Reform: Time to Act’. Steph also attended a talk by Teresa Atkinson about making care environments dementia-friendly which was really interesting and could easily be applied to the environments that we create when we enter care homes to film.
Although the event was covid safe as vaccines and tests were checked at the door, we did think a lot of people would have still been skeptical about attending, especially because this was the first event back since the pandemic, and the majority of visitors came from care settings. With this in mind, we didn’t expect a lot of footfall at this event. Nonetheless, we had a great time and we got to meet a lot of lovely people in the care sector, both exhibitors and visitors. We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the event season holds over October at The Care Show, Care Roadshow, and the Care Management Matters Insight Conference!
Overall we had a lovely time and it was great to have the opportunity to meet everyone. If we met at the expo, or if we just missed each other, we would love to hear from you! Get in touch and let’s chat!
