Case Study: Just Checking - Video Podcast Production
Video Podcast Production
Like in many sectors the care industry thrives on trust and personal connection. While traditional marketing has its place, podcasting offers care suppliers an opportunity to build authentic relationships, establish expertise, and grow their business meaningfully.
Who are Just Checking
Just Checking provide activity monitoring systems to local authorities and other care providers which help care professionals complete objective, evidence based care needs assessments of adults with dementia, learning disabilities and autism.
Why B2B Suppliers Need Podcasting
The video podcasts aimed to:
Building Trust Through Authentic Voice: Care buyers need confidence in your expertise and compassion. Podcasting showcases both through natural conversation that feels far more authentic than traditional advertising. When potential clients hear your voice regularly discussing real challenges and solutions, they develop personal trust. Invaluable in care decisions.
Establishing Industry Authority: The care sector like many others constantly evolves with new regulations and best practices. Hosting a podcast positions you as an expert who stays current. This expertise becomes crucial when buyers research care supplier options or seek partnerships.
Reaching Busy Decision-Makers: Senior leaders have demanding schedules. Podcasts fit perfectly, they listen while commuting or doing tasks. This accessibility means your message reaches decision-makers during moments when they’re actively considering care solutions.
We have been working with Just Checking for over 4 years now and making video podcasts for them for about a year. Here is a link to their YouTube Channel with all of the episodes currently created.
Real-World Success: Just Checking Video Podcast Production
Time and Budget: Video podcast production can quickly become expensive if you don’t have a plan. Just Checking wanted an effective way of bulk creating quality content.
Asset Creation: When creating video podcasts, one video just isn’t enough, you’re leaving valuable content on the table. From one day of filming a huge amount of high quality content can be created.
Thought Leadership: It can be tricky to highlight your own or your companies expertise beyond speaking at events. So a podcast is a great way to demonstrate knowledge and experience.
Process and Approach:

1. The Strategy
Just Checking were looking for new and innovative ways to connect and engage with potential customers at Local Authorities, they wanted a way to connect in a non sales focused way and share insights and ideas into the sector.
2. The Process
The first four episodes were filmed in an office lent by a collaborative business in the sector. This meant setting up a podcast studio in a few hours in an unfamiliar space. York & Chris from the Five on a Bike team, created a wonderful setup, which allowed the content to look fantastic and allow the guests and the presenter to feel relaxed. 3. Podcast Post Production
One of the key benifits of creating a video podcast is the scale of quality content you can create in a short amount of time. Over the course of filming in one day, we were able to create nearly 4 hours of cotent. As the content was filmed as live and vision mixed, there was minimal editing which allows for a quick turn around.
4. Podcast Distribution
Making sure the podcast episodes are in as many places as possible has a range of benfits. It allows you to tap into different audinces on the platforms, such as YouTube, Spotify, Amazon Music as well as providing backlinks to your website to boost SEO. Another trick is to make sure you collobrate with people who have there own audiences in your sector, so they will share the content on there own websites and social media platforms.
Outcome:
Video podcast production is a great way to build your profile as a company or a personal brand, connect with influential people in your sector (without trying to sell to them) and create a bulk of content to make sure you are able to post regularly on social media.
Five on a Bike & Just Checking have already created 16 podcast episodes with over 1300 views on YouTube alone, not to mention the 1000’s of views on social media, spotify and amazon music.
One of the key benefits has been the ability to connect with people in the sector they would not normally be able to connect with. Being able to invite someone who is influential onto your professionally produced podcast is a powerful networking tool.
