Event & Conference Filming
create an event that will be shared again and again
You’ve spent nearly 12 months and thousands of pounds of your marketing budget on planning the perfect award ceremony, trade show or industry speaker conference – because you want it to extract the maximum value for money for months to come – and earn you some brownie points with the boss, investors or shareholders.
But, one of the things event managers often neglect is the event filming. Either they don’t plan for it at all or it becomes a last minute tick-box exercise resulting in an event film that makes the event seem as exciting as a funeral procession. If this is you, you’re seriously missing a trick.
A well-planned high quality event film will dramatically increase the value you create from your conference, expo or speaker event.
A film created in line with your event objectives such as showcasing your brand, getting your messages across in a different way and capturing the spirit of the event to share with those who couldn’t be there – can become one of your most powerful marketing tools.
It’s an opportunity to share the event, expo or conference that you’ve worked so hard on with a much wider audience by using the film on your website or even sharing it with the wider world online through real-time webcasting. The content can be multi-purposed and used to promote future events and inspire more people to attend.
Types of event filming
Any event can be filmed and brought to life by an experienced and creative team, but here are some examples of typical events we regularly get asked to shoot:
- Awards ceremonies – including opening drinks reception, speeches and vox pops (members of the audience commenting on the event)
- Networking events
- Speaker events – at museums, universities and companies
- Conferences with multiple speakers and workshops
- Filming for events – providing exciting, engaging films to be played at your events
A recent event we filmed involved a royal visit. We were tasked with streaming live video feeds to 8 TV screens around the venue at Oxford University. Take a look at this video below to see how we set up our filming equipment.
Why you need experts to film your event:
We’re all for creating your own movies on iPhones, but trust us this is one area where you want to call in the experts.
There is only one thing worse than not planning to have your event filmed and that is getting an amateur to do it and ending up with egg on your face.
Filming a live event is stressful and requires experience, technical knowledge and hair on your teeth – because there is no storyboard, it’s unpredictable, there are lots of technical and physical limitations and there is no chance for a second take – if you’ve blown it – that’s it. Do you really want to take that risk?
What you need will depend on the size, goals, location and budget for your event, but it starts with the right equipment and a professional crew.
At Five on a Bike, we have professional, high-quality cameras, lighting and sound equipment with experienced producers and cameramen who are experts at filming events to live television standards, as well as expert editing facilities to produce footage of the highest quality.
Our services and how we work:
We’d like to talk to you when you start planning the event or conference (but we understand that sometimes this isn’t possible) If your event is soon, give us a call TODAY on 01494 868409 to discuss your event goals, and how filming the event can help you achieve them, how best to integrate filming the event and planning every detail, including location, lighting, sound, the audience, the speakers, the agenda. We’ll leave nothing to chance. We have great equipment and great crew all to deliver you cost effective, quality event filming.
